Klein Juliane

Juliane Klein (born in 1966) lives in Berlin and is active in the music scene since 1987, when she co-founded the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin. She gave lessons at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“, and had working periods in Paris, St. Petersburg and Vienna. She studied in Stuttgart with Helmut Lachenmann and started to publish her works in her own publishing company in 1999, the Edition Juliane Klein.
By now her company publishes the complete works of 6 composers. In 2002 a book on Juliane Klein was released. In 2004 she lived and worked for half a year in the Villa Massimo, Rome. Also in 2004 Juliane Klein was portrayed on CD by the Deutscher Musikrat. In 2005 the Freiburger Barockorchester and the Klangforum Wien played world premieres of her works at the Lucerne Festival and the Donaueschingen Festival.
Juliane Klein is honoured with the “Förderungspreis Musik” of the “Kunstpreis Berlin” of the Academy of Arts Berlin 2006.
